Wool jacket and trousers for Alsos for £8. Already had some trousers but I don't think they were labelled correctly (and didn't try them on ) as I'll have to lose about a stone to get in them. :slap: New ones are a size 42 so no worries there! Just need to find a hat now.

Czech helmet from Sabre Sales (was advertised as Russian).

So not quite what I was looking for, but a good look-a-like.

Lufty ruck :)

Would need a close-up of the fabric to tell whether its wartime or not (if that actually matters? )

The main body of the ruck is almost certainly wartime - very rough cloth is the giveaway. However, the piece of leather with the date on it is out of keeping with the rest of the leatherwork on there. Colour of the thread looks a bit sus as well. Thing is, its not worth faking rucks - there's still so many of them out there, and they don't go for silly prices. Bit odd really.

Dammit, my rucksack addiction is kicking in again...

Whats wrong with the tread colour? Are you talking about the stitching of the leather work or the body of the sack? The sack stitching looks like well preserved, mostly unfaded, period needlework to me.
That 'triangular' part of the leather work is not subject to the same wear as the straps etc.
I dont remember seeing metal loops as large as those, though I've never owned a lufty rucksack. I have got and owned some lufty canvas wear. Breadbags and straps mostly.

The stitching on the leatherwork is the odd bit. The stitching on the fabric is *exactly* the same as it is on the two Lufty rucks I have here. As to the colour, i've got a total of 12 rucks and tornisters here and the only one that has a significantly different colour between various parts of the leatherwork is on one ruck that I restored myself with some new leatherwork required.
